Position: Consultancy to conduct Situational Analysis for TB in the Mines
Job Summary
MUKIKUTE is planning TB in the Mines intervention in Kahama and Geita Districts and before this we would like to establish the state of affairs with regard to the access to TB, HIV, and Silicosis and Compensation services for key populations. Key Informants, consisting mainly of duty bearers and rights holders will be interviewed with a view to guide MUKIKUTE interventions both in terms of scope and coverage. A comprehensive literature review will be conducted to augment information collected from the informants in order to give a holistic picture.

Job Description
Specifically, the situational analysis seeks to:
1. Provide a rough but reliable estimate of population sizes of key populations in Geita and Kahama, Where possible, present the estimates disaggregated by ages, sex and citizenship
2. Present the list of minerals currently being extracted in each district under review and its socio economic importance. This presentation should also indicate the size of predominant mining activities (Large, Small, Artisanal) in the district(s) where applicable
3. Describe TB/HIV, Silicosis and compensation services currently in place to key populations focusing on the assigned districts but also in the country
4. Identify key players/service providers working in the TB/HIV, Silicosis and compensation space in the district and the reach/coverage of these services and opportunities for collaboration
5. Identify gaps in current service packages and provide strategic pointers in order to close these gaps
Qualifications of the Consultant
The ideal candidate should be experienced in research and possess an advanced degree in any of the following areas:
Public Health
Epidemiology
Health Economics
Medical Demography
Medical Sociology
Biostatistics
Social Work
Experience with programming for key populations, especially those living in and around mining areas is an added advantage
