SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF JOB:
To ensure guests are well served their meals and drinks, work together with other staff and management in a smooth, safe, and harmonious manner to ensure guests have a memorable stay.
DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
Daily Duties
- Assist in answering any inquiries pertaining to camp policies and services and resolve occupants’ complaints.
- Lead, manage, teach, and coach camp teams, including support members, food services, housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, and other team members.
- Assist in conduct employee training programs and performance management to ensure efficient operations and adherence to company standards, policies and procedures.
- Greet and briefing basic information to guests, visitors, or clients
- Assist in resolving customer complaints or problems.
- Assist in Managing guest services and activities
- Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and grounds for cleanliness and appearance.
- Assist in Coordinating front-office and Back of House activities of the camp with Central office
- Assist in monitoring petty cash activity of the camp
- Assisting in oversee assigned duties of staffs to ensure safety or compliance with rules.
- Document organizational or operational procedures.
- Assisting in managing movement of staffs according to company policy
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Assistant or Camp manager
- Previous experience in bush camps will be highly valued
- Studies according to the position
- High level of English speaking
- Leadership skills, guest oriented, strong communication skills
- Knowledge on Ms package
- Team-orientation, loyalty and excellent leadership skills
- Flexibility, commitment, dedication and reliability

There will be dual reporting and accountability for the Cluster Coordinator, between UNESCO and host university.
Specifically, the incumbent(s) will perform the following duties;
- Working directly with university and college authorities, support the institutionalization of Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE), Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) service provision and prevention of / response to sexual and gender-based violence for young people in tertiary institutions, including Young People Living with HIV, young people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups;
- Support the capacity building of the Higher and Tertiary Education Institutions (HTEIs) to deliver quality and effective CSE through training of health care workers, lecturers, tutors, and peer educators/mentoring programs;
- Facilitate capacity strengthening of campus health facilities to offer a trusted standard package of youth-friendly health services for students, along with sustained referral mechanisms to specialist care and support services as needed;
- Coordinate and liaise with all SRH/CSE/GBV stakeholders to ensure wide coverage of programme service delivery for increased uptake and impact;
- Re-invigorate existing structures to ensure students have access to comprehensive SRHR information and services through strengthening collaboration between HTEIs and relevant ministries, facilitating mobile health services and ‘in-reach’ programs by external service providers and implementation of a scorecard framework for assessing quality of service provision;
- Support the development, implementation and effective enforcement of laws and policies to protect students from sexual and gender based violence that they may encounter in and around campus;
- Contribute to the establishment of a knowledge-sharing platform, providing an opportunity for institutions to collaborate, network, share knowledge and provide collective suggestions on issues related to health and well-being, practice and programs and evidence-based research;
- Establish cluster-level working groups including staff/senior leadership, student representation and active Civil Society Organization (CSO) service providers;
- Lead the compilation of SRH/CSE/GBV innovations, stories of change and learnings for sharing in relevant local and national level Education, HIV, SRH, Gender and other important platforms;
- Coordinate CSE/SRH monthly and quarterly work plan review meetings at cluster level;
- Ensure timely narrative and financial reporting on project and budget portfolio falling under the incumbent’s responsibility, both within UNESCO and to external donors as appropriate;
- Support operations research, monitoring & evaluation around CSE/SRH for young people in tertiary institutions to enhance evidence-based planning and implementation of programmes;

Duties
- Track incoming/outgoing files in the system and keep in the filing room when not in use by staff, in line with SOPs.
- File correspondence/documents in the physical file and enter data in the database.
- Ensure that an orderly and systematic filing system is maintained in the filing room (active and closed) for efficient and timely retrieval of files.
- Ensure that the File tracking system is properly used by all staff in the office and that file movement within the office and between users is properly recorded in the system.
- Ensure that the data which are mainly related to asylum seekers, refugees and persons of concern to UNHCR are correctly entered into the computer database and filed in the physical individual file.
- Receive, record and forward incoming correspondence and manage its proper distribution to the responsible officers.
- Draft routine correspondence and respond to queries relating to area of responsibility.
- May be required to assist the protection and refugee status determination unit with maintaining and updating the interview schedule as well as communicating with applicant regarding their scheduled appointment.
- Ensure the general maintenance and smooth running of the filing room, i.e. physical arrangement, cleanliness and security.
- May be required to provide clerical and administrative support by stocking and supplying stationery, receive and dispatch of external and internal office pouches and handle all official documentation.
- Make recommendations relating to the organization of the filing system.
- Perform other related duties as required.

Organizational Setting and Work Relationships
The Registration Assistant is a member of the registration team and is supervised by a more senior colleague who normally reports directly to the Registration Officer. The incumbent is responsible for supporting all activities related to registration, which may also include functions related to reception, filing and data management. S/he responds to queries from asylum seekers and refugees regarding UNHCR’s registration procedures and their rights and entitlements. The Registration Assistant liaises with protection staff and partners to ensure timely identification and referral of persons of concern for protection follow up and may provide interpretation and/or translation services in cases for which s/he has the required language competencies.
